National and Local Events throughout the Year
During our special year we organised a range of events nationally and locally to promote the work of Cruse and to raise funds for what we do. Our 130 areas and branches had lots of plans for a variety of activities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Rays of Hope with a Quilt of Gold
The image on the right shows the design for a unique Quilt of Gold, a work of art created to celebrate the Golden Jubilee year.
Entitled Rays of Hope, it was fashioned by a small team of skilled quilt-makers.
Click on the image on the right to see how the quilt took shape, along with pictures of the fabrics being used in the design.
This quilt of gold comprises a total of 50 squares, to celebrate the 50 years of Cruse in this, the Golden Jubile Year, and the design is based on seven - a number that has significance across many cultures. The textiles will all be in shades of gold on a creamy background. All materials have been carefully selected and donated.
You can read more about the thoughts and ideas that have gone into the design of the Quilt of Gold, see pictures of the fabrics and learn about the progress that is being made by clicking here.
