CELEBRATING OUR JUBILEE
LOCAL EVENTS THROUGHOUT 2009
Throughout 2009, Cruse local areas and branches held events and activities to celebrate our Golden Jubilee, raise funds for our work, and promote what we do. Here we have a list of what was planned, and links to reports from successful events.

| 13 June, in seven scenic locations | On Saturday 13th June 2009 Cruse Bereavement Care in Northern Ireland invited families, friends and co-workers to make their footsteps count, come together and walk in memory of loved ones who have died. |

| Wales | 4 April, Dainiol Shopping Centre, Bangor, Gwynedd | Fundraising event with music. |
| 25 April, Colwyn Bay Shopping Precinct | Fundraising event with school jazz band. | |

| 1 November, St David's Cathedral | All Pembrokeshire Branch: an ecumenical service of commemoration was held at St Davids Cathedral, Pembrokeshire on Sunday 1 November at 6:00pm with sung Evensong with a full choir, and readings and meditations by Cruse members. Address given by Revd Roy Jenkins, well known from Radio Wales and Thought for the Day. Service open to all, and current and past clients were made especially welcome to join in remembrance of their loved ones. |

| 5 September, The Belgrave Rooms, Nottingham | They got their dancing shoes on for the Cruse Ball - all very traditional with dress code and Black Tie. plus auction and raffle on the night, with lots of great items. | |

| 23 May, Seaford Head Golf Club, East Sussex | A Charity Golf Day held for Cruse in Eastbourne - all golfers of any ability, and spectators, came along to enjoy the day on this spectacular links course. | |
| 13 June, Milford and Villages Day Centre, Surrey | Golden Jubilee Celebration Cheese and Wine Party held by Guildford and Waverley Cruse with a tasteful cake and good company. | |
| 2-4 October, St Joseph's | Bracknell Flower Arranging Society presented a Flower Festival "All Things Bright and Beautiful" to raise funds for Cruse. The programme included singing, art and music as well as floral demonstrations. | |
| 28 November, Crawley | Mid-Sussex Branch Quiz Evening with question-master Toby Lane, prizes, raffle and refreshments, all held at St Edward's Church Hall, Hillcrest Road, Pound Hill, Crawley, West Sussex | |
| South West | 21 March, Bournemouth | Bournemouth and Christchurch Branch celebrated two anniversaries |
| 18 September, Exeter, Devon | Antiques in your attic? Ever almost thrown it away but wondered what it's worth? Here was a chance to find out - or find it a good home! | |
| 24 April, Yeovil | Dr Colin Murray Parkes spoke on Love and Loss, part of Somerset Cruse's activities for Jubilee Year. | |
| 10 July, Plymouth | An evening celebration sailed off on the Tamar River Cruise with local members, previous members and people on board who have supported the branch in the past, including speakers. | |
